Drum Lessons
Rock & Rhythm Music offers lessons in Drums to all ages and abilities, beginners are very welcome but we cater for advanced student too.
The lessons are backed by Drumsense resources and over 17 years teaching experience.
Students love the informal, personally structured lessons and parents are welcome to observe the lessons if they wish.
The aim is to give each student the practical skills to play songs,
play in a band, add to their DofE, Prepare for school entry or Rockschool exams, work on GCSE, A level, Diploma courses or to learn for fun but done in a way which brings music to life and relevant.
Learning songs is an important part of our approach to teaching and is supplemented by one to one jamming sessions, this means our students become experienced in ensemble playing very quickly and feel confident enough to join or start a band with friends in a short space of time.
From the 1st lesson we will cover phrasing using simple grooves and fills but students soon apply this principle in Blues, Funk, Jazz and Latin styles developing the use of rudiments and reading skills as we continue the journey which is unique with each student.
